I have a few of these mark Glow Baby Glow and Glow Baby Glow Luxe lip glosses and I am really impressed with their quality for the price. They connect to one another so that you can choose your perfect combos. Each of these glosses have a minty fresh scent that is very inoffensive and fresh. The texture is thinner than MAC Lip Glass or Lancôme Juicy Tube but not as thin as Clarins Colour Quench Lip Balm or Bonne Bell. It is really nice texture that wears for a while without being sticky or leaving those white gummy things on your lips like MAC does. I really like the stuff and it sells for $5 when it isn’t on sale. I have Peek-a-Boo which is an awesome pale nude that pairs perfectly with smoky eyes. I have Player which is a shimmery bronze that I’m not so crazy about just because it is so “normal” looking. I have Secret which is a nude pale mauve that looks great with smoky eyes. Girly Girl is a sheer pink with blue shimmer. The “luxe” shades I have are Lotus Luxe which is a shimmery nude pink and Pearl Luxe which is a white shimmer. You have to buy the connectors separately. I love these and I’d probably buy more if I could see them in person. That’s what sucks about mark, they’re really great cosmetics but you have to have a rep (which I don’t) or order them online and just guess. I really want to try the plumping glosses too. Buy them here.

I remember when I first saw this. I thought it would be so gross. I was imagining the actual DKNY Be Delicious fragrance infused into a clear, shiny lip gloss tube. Even as a fragrance fan, nothing is worse than having a “perfumey” lip gloss. I’ve revisited this product because apples are falling off of trees here in Washington. Since I am new to the area, this is very novel.

DKNY Be Delicous Lip Gloss is a clear super shiny lip gloss with medium thickness. It is loaded with a green apple scent and flavor. This is not Jolly Rancher green apple. This is still a bit “synthetic” but not candy-ish. Apple scents are hard to replicate. It is very fresh, crisp and juicy. I’m not a huge fan of DKNY Be Delicious, it makes me sneezy, but I do like this fun product.  It retails for $16 and it available at sephora.com and nordstrom.com.

Clarins Gloss Appeal Lip Gloss was launched last year (2007) and I played with it for a little bit and then went on my merry way. Lately, I have revisited this formula and realized that I really like.

It is a pretty basic lip gloss that goes and smooth and feels like it is “nourishing”. The wand has a wider than normal doe foot applicator and a clear wand. The “amazing” thing about the wand is that none of the gloss goops on it and the wand  comes out clean. That’s not really a big perk for me but I’m sure it is for someone. The colors are shimmery and have both silver and gold shimmers. The motto is that it is all about reflecting light to plump the lips. Well, at least it doesn’t burn. It has some olive extract in it that makes it taste sweet and each claim to have a sweet almond-aniseed fragrance. I have Sorbet and it just smells like a sweet sorbet. I smelled some of the others on display and they could pass as sweet almond, but aniseed, I don’t know. I love aniseed and couldn’t pick that note out. But, maybe I was sniffing the wrong ones. There is a wide array of shades. Sorbet, one that I own, is a delicate warm light pink shimmer. It is a great neutral and I can wear it with both pink and peach blush.  The other colors range from clear to magenta to brown. The shades include Crystal, Ylang, Ginger, Paradise, Hibiscus, Orchid, Grape, Lilac, and Toffee (notice a tropical trend?). I would like to own Hibiscus which is a shimmery orange, Orchid which is a hot pink shimmer, and Ginger a pale barely there peachy pink shimmer. These come in really pretty shades. There is at least one for everyone with ten shades in all. It doesn’t have a thin or thick texture and wears for awhile compared to other glosses. They retail for $19. In conclusion, it feels good on my lips, maybe it’s that sweet tasting olive extract that makes me keep wearing it. Who knows?

OK, I do know that I am too old for this. I mean look at it’s holographic sticker and don’t even mention the super sweet fragrance. This gloss is a basic silver white shimmer with a super strong vanilla cake batter fragrance. The gloss isn’t terrific but it is cheap. It retails for $2.89 and is available pretty much everywhere. The formula is a little too thin feeling for my taste and is a bit “slippery”. But, it isn’t goopy or sticky! This pretty much means that you have to re-apply frequently. When I say frequently, I mean all of the time. I like to wear it over lipstains and dark lipsticks for a little bit of a highlight. It is super shimmery and shiny. It has a sponge doe foot applicator. It isn’t the best lip gloss on the market but the flavor is fun. I understand why little gals love it so. Plus, little gals have time to reapply this stuff. I don’t think I will repurchase unless I get a wicked sweet tooth or something.

Kevyn Aucoin is a makeup artist god. He was a man of talent and new how to pull the strings of pop culture. I see his legacy in the product Kevyn Aucoin Liquid Lipstick. It has that disco gal vibe. It is an amazing full-coverage lipstick gloss. It has the coverage and color of a lipstick and the super shine of an awesome gloss. It really makes lips pop and look fuller.

For some reason I have always loved liquid lipstick. Maybe because it is novel, who knows. I just like this product because it is so patent leather. It is a fun product and a grown up gals lip gloss.  There are five shades. All are super shiny. One of my faves is Aquarouge which is a deep plummy red brown that will look hot for fall. There is Aurelia which is soft pink that looks great with gold or silver eyes. There is Dollphine which is a warm nude that is hot with smoky eyes. There is Ondine which is a bright poppy red that screams discotheque. Reyna is a peachy melon coral that looks awesome on tanned skin and bronzer.

These retail for $27 and you can get them at sephora.com and beauty.com.
