Androgyny but with lots and lots of makeup. I guess that was one of the few good things about the 80’s. Don’t be scared to lay it on thick.

FACE: Cover up imperfections with an all around concealer like MAC Studio Sculpt Concealer in your shade. Face is matte (and I am sure shades lighter). I love MAC Studio Fix Powder Foundation. Apply a hot pink powder blush such as Amazing Cosmetics Amazing Blush in Hot Pink.

EYES: Brush brows into place and fill them in with a soft, powdery brow pencil like Lancome Le Crayon Poudre. The colors needed for lids include a soft cream like Origins Eyeshadow in Cream Tulle, a medium plum such as MAC Eyeshadow in Plum Dressing, a burgundy like MAC Eyeshadow in Sketch, and a black or a burgundy black like MAC Eyeshadow in Beauty Marked. Apply the cream shade all over. From lash line to lid crease apply the plum/magenta. Also line the bottom lash line with this shade. In the crease with eyes open, apply the burgundy. With a crease brush apply the darkest shade, making a sideways “v”. Take this dark shade and apply halfway on the bottom lash line in the outer corners. Take the cream and blend into the lid towards the corner closest to your nose. Blend and blend until you get the look you want. Take a pitch black eye liner like Benefit BadGal Waterproof Eyeliner and line top lash line halfway to make lashes appear fuller. Apply lots and lots of black mascara.

LIPS: Lips have full-coverage with a glossy raspberry shade. So make sure they are exfoliated and moisturized ahead of time. Line lips with a raspberry shade like Prescriptives Deluxe Lip Pencil in Raspberry. Apply a slightly glossy raspberry lipstick like Physcian’s Formula Plump Potion Lipstick in Raspberry Potion. Apply a shimmery pink lip gloss like Lancome Color Fever Lip Gloss in Raspberry Glimmer to the center of your bottom lip.

Who doesn’t want a completely made up look every know and then? I love Tanya’s look here. This angel is all made up and it is all about product. Every feature features color. I love it.

FACE: Even out skintone with a foundation such as NARS Balanced Foundation in your shade. Apply concealer where needed. I like the creaminess of Prescriptives Flawless Skin Total Protection Concealer. I like to apply it with fingertips since the warmth of your body helps it to melt and look natural.  Apply a light dusting of Physician’s Formula Mineral Wear Loose Powder in your shade. This helps with shine and wear. Don’t be scared of the blush. You want a flush and the only way you can get it is with a bold blush. Try NARS Blush in Desire, a matte hot pink. This is one of my favorite shades ever. Take a large fluffy brush and swipe up the cheekbones. Layer as much as you need depending on your skintone.

EYES: Apply a brow powder such as Bare Escentuals Brow Color in your shade. For the eyes, use Estee Lauder Signature Eyeshadow Quad in Blue Smoke. Apply the lightest gray, blue shade from lashline to just above the crease. Apply the slightly deeper shade, the one next to the lightest in the compact from lashline to crease. Apply the carkest shade in the crease, blend well. Take the darkest shade and it apply it along the bottom lashline for a slightly smoky look. Line eyes (top and bottom) with Avon Glimmersticks Waterproof Eyeliner in Midnight Blue. Coat lashes with a mascara with extra volume. Something like Avon Supershock Mascara in Black. Apply a few coats to bottom and top lashes.

LIPS: Line lips with a pink lipliner such as L’Oreal Infalliable Never Fail Lipliner Pencil in Pink. Apply a blue based pink lipstick to lips, try a moisturizing formula such as Covergirl Continuous Color Lipstick in Pink Chic Shimmer. Apply a hot pink lip gloss over the lipstick. Try Lancome Color Fever Lip Gloss in Volcanic Pink.

This cool toned look works best with blue, green, and brown eyes (any eye color really). Those with “cooler” undertones, blondes, brunettes, and gray hair.

Look familiar? Yep, more pink and more frost. The poor model looks like a bridesmaid gone bad with that “collar” of flowers. The only difference from this collection and everybody else’s is that this is not a spring makeup collection but a summer one.

FACE: There is the Vivid Garden Illuminating Powder. It is a pretty shimmer palette featuring gold, pink, champagne, and violet. It is all a pretty flower print complete with dragonfly. It retails for $32. The Double Wear Makeup Foundation has been relaunched. This is a great selling product but I hate it. I’ll just keep it at that.

LIPS & NAILS: There is a pretty shade of Pure Color Crystal Lipstick in Sweet Lychee. This is a light pink shimmer that smells wonderful. It retails for $22 and like all of the other Pure Color products, I like the packaging. There is a Pure Color Lip Gloss with limited edition floral packaging. There is Lotus Blossom, a plumpy and pouty milky pink. It retails for $18. There is a Pure Color Nail Lacquer in Lotus Blossom which is a pale lilac pink. It retails for $18 and so far I have not been impressed with the formula.

EYES: There is an Eyeshadow Quad in Jasmine Garden. It is a bit Guerlain-ish becuase it features four shimmery shades with a dusting or pattern of gold flowers. It contains four pastel shades: pillow mint blue-green, periwinkle blue, soft pink, and white. The quad retails for $35. The TurboLash Mascara has been relaunched. In case there isn’t enough battery powered items in your life. There is a Duo-Tone Eye Pencil in Onyx Pearl. One end is a deep black and the other is an eye-opening pearly white. It retails for $18.50 and I like the formula.

The collection is OK. It is pastel and pink. It will look pretty bad on darker skintones in my opinion. This is the collection for pale gals with blonde, gray or brunette hair. It looks alot like many of the spring collections out there. I wouldn’t of guessed that this was for summer. Personally, I’m thinking more khaki and coral for summer. Oh, well.

This spring is all about the pink. Seriously. I feel like every makeup company has pulled the pink shtick. If pink is your color then buy up. If not, then turn your head and wait for fall. Clinique First Blush is super girly and pink. It is all about flowers and blooms. I actually like it on the model above. It is very pretty, if only it could look this nice on me…

FACE: The Quick Blushes have been relaunched. They retail for$21.50. I am not wild about these despite their Ok shades. I think it is silly to pay for a brush product like this. Invest in a nice brush and any blush. Blush you can clean your brush with ease. Seriously it isn’t that much easier to apply your blush with such a silly product? If you want blush on the go sans brush go for a cream blush. You can apply that stuff on mass transit with no problems..

EYES: There are four limited edition Eye Shadows. The packaging is beautiful. It contains two powder eyeshadows in a very beautiful pressed flower. It is almost too pretty to use. Looks like the floral face compacts. The colors include Apple Blossom which is a soft green duo, Cherry Blossom which is the pretty pink on the model above, Tiger Lily which is a peachy bronze, and Maple Blossom which is a cool taupey shimmer. These retail for $16.50. I really like Maple Blossom and Apple Blossom. Those could easily become my everyday shades. The Quickliner Eye Liners in Relly Black and Smoky Brown have been relaunched. This is a nice formula that retails for $14.50. No tugging! High Impact Curling Mascara has been launched. I have not tried this item. It retails for $14. The original High Impact wasn’t my favorite but it wasn’t too bad.

LIPS: Two Quickliner for Lips have been launched: Cocoa Rose and Lipblush. Both are really neutral and retail for $16.50. Four Longwear Glosswear Lip Glosses have been relaunched/launched. There is First Blush which is a warm, ligh pink, Honey Shimmer which is a vivid violet that is still very sheer, Whisper which is a barely there shimmer, and Air Kiss which is a super sheer pink shimmer. These retail for $14. For some reason I keep reaching for Air Kiss. It looks nice over other colors.

They have also introduce a special packaging of Happy in Bloom. For a Happy fragrance, this one isn’t too bad. I can tolerate. It’s not the best fragrance in the world but if I had to choose to wear a Happy fragrance this would be the one. It is super floral and very spring. Remember that I said if I had to.

Overall, the stars are the limited edition eyeshadows. The price is nice for a duo and they are so attractive. I try not to fall for packaging but it is hard not to. Plus, the colors are very wearable despite the pionk capaign. I believe that there is something for everyone in this collection, because keeping to true Clinique fashion, everything is very neutral.

I’m really not in love with the Dior Parisian Nude spring 2009 makeup collection. I find it a bit boring and a little too average. It is a little too Clinique for my tastes. This isn’t a horrible look. It looks great on my people and it even looks much like my toned down work look. So, that is why it is boring. This isn’t a collection and it shouldn’t be limited edition; these are too much of the everyday colors that most ladies already own.

FACE: There is a limited edition Lady Dior Compact for $75. It is a purse looking metal compact that is made to resemble the Lady Dior bag. It contains a sheer and shimmery champagne cheek highlighter and a sheer pink lip gloss. I find this product extremely boring, especially for the price.

EYES: There is a 5-Colour Iridescent Eyeshadow Compact in Parisian Lights. This compact features pretty and soft shades of white, copper, copper rose, pink, and stainless steel. It retails for $56. They have relaunched the 2-Colour Duo Eyeshadow in Nude Look which is a deep chocolate and shimmery rose. It is a pretty combo that retails for $35. My only beef is that there is more of the crease color than of the base, stupid guys, and Clinique has a duo identical to it for half the price. There is a Waterproof Crayon Eyeliner in Elegant Taupe which is a mushroomy medium brown. This shade is very pretty and I love the formula. It goes for $26 and comes with its own sharpener.

LIPS & NAILS: There are 2 Rouge Dior Lipsticks in Actress Chestnut, a warm rosey brown,  and Rita Beige, a rosey copper. These retail for $28. I’m not impressed with these shades at all and I do find the formula long wearing but a bit dry. Four Addict Ultra-Gloss Reflect Lip Glosses have been relaunched/launched: Clutch Pink (a warm pink/rose shimmer), Ribbon Beige (warm brown shimmer), Satin Pink (cool pink shimmer), and Trenchcoat Beige (pinky nude shimmer). These go for $25.50 and I must admit that I like the formula but I am not wild about these boring shades. For the nails, there is a Vernis Nail Enamel in Porcelain which is a super sheer everyday pink shimmer.

But, yep, all I have to say is that this collection is a bit tame and boring. If the colors sell out, so be it, they offer these shades all the time. You can find these shades anywhere.

This limited edition lip gloss/ lip balm has a lovely super pale satin peachy pink. It makes for an amazing pale lip look on my skintone. Especially if the smoky eye is super bronzed or a smoky violety taupe. It looks very Victoria’s Secret Angels that way. I like the shade because it looks nice with both baby pink and peach blushes and it is stunning with a pinky-peach blush like NARS Orgasm. The only downside is that since it is pale and a bit satin (sans mega shimmer) it can look uneven or attach to dry patches like mad. That is a bit inconvenient being that this is a lip gloss balm that is made to make lips look healthy. Your lips have to be healthy and in tip top shape for this to look good. The formula is rich and contains shea butter. It moisturizes but doesn’t repair winter parched lips. Plus, I was craving a super rosy fragrance like those refreshing Middle Eastern drinks. The fragrance is rosy but very faint. It is rosy in a Dior Lychee Rose way. So it is a bit cat pissy and fruity. I try not to think about that too much and just try to think of roses. Luckily, the fragrance isn’t too strong so this can be ignored if you quit obsessing over it. This product is lucky to be such a pretty shade that works for me. I’m not shaken that this is limited edition. Once again it is another product that I could live without.
