This isn’t a fragrance that I would wear to work, because I don’t want anybody thinking I’ve been smoking a pipe in my little “speech studio”.  But, I do love this fragrance. I love the sweetness of whiskey tobacco. This cologne smells like the real deal. Demeter’s website describes it as tobacco smoke and whiskey. I don’t pick up on any smokiness. This to me smells just like if you opened a jar of whiskey “flavored” pipe tobacco at a cigar shop. This is sweet, warm, and best described as masculine. It is very dried tobacco-ish, you know it if you’ve smelled it before, and a bit vanilla, well, more buttery burnt coconut-vanilla cream, like whiskey aged in oak. It’s a beautiful thing really. It’s nostalgic and reminds me of all of my grandfather’s old man friends with burnt white moustaches that sat around in leather chairs in the sitting room smoking flavored pipe tobacco and complaining about everything. Well, sometimes they talked about ultralight airplanes.

Like all Demeter Cologne Pick-Me-Up fragrances, this one isn’t long-lasting. It mainly exists for its novelty. I do enjoy it but I don’t want to smell like whisky/whiskey tobacco all day. I love that fragrance but it needs to be in a “blend” for me to want to wear it for many hours (It’s screaming for dried apricots and roses). This cologne blend wears for about 30-45 minutes on me during cooler weather. For me, this is a cool weather fragrance because of its sweetness. I do love to use it as a linen and room spray. This creates a hip cigar lounge atmosphere everywhere.

I do consider this a unisex fragrance. The 1 ounce cologne spray goes for $20. And other sizes are available on www.demeterfragrance.com. I would say to give this one a try if you love the smell of pipe tobacco, Santa Maria Novella Tobacco Tuscano Cologne, Miller Harris Feuilles de Tabac EDP, Serge Lutens Fumerie Turque EDP, Micheal Kors for Men EDT, and/or Odori Tobacco.

I love a tart and fruity cosmo. I like mine with lots of vodka and unsweetened cranberry juice and lots of lime. I like to pair it with stupid Marylin Monroe or Jayne Mansfield flicks. It makes for a good and lonely Friday night.

Demeter Cosmopolitan Cocktail Pick-Me-Up Cologne Spray is really not what I was looking for. It should be renamed Pixie Stick or Sweet Tarte since it is a dead ringer of these childhood sugary treats. It is very tart on initial spritz and very refined sugar. I feel like the little molecules of the fragrance are actually Pixie Stick sugar dust that I will have to sweep up later. It is sour and tangy but in a candy way not a fruity cranberry way. I know fruits are very difficult to replicate in fragrance and you can really tell it with this fragrance. It smells like strawberry Sweet Tarts with a dash of lime. I don’t totally hate this one, it just isn’t what I expected. It doesn’t remind me of a Cosmo at all. In fact if you just handed me a blotter card with this one it I would think it was just sugary candy. It doesn’t smell alchol-ish or a bit like cranberry juice: sweetened or unsweetened. Next time I’ll just stick to the real thing.

The large spray can be purchased at fragrancenet.com.

If you don’t like this fragrance, please don’t judge me. Honesty is an amazing quality to have. I am just being honest. There is something that I really like about Avon Sweet Honesty EDT. It is pretty old-fashioned and really “fluffy”. It doesn’t have that edge and sultriness that I usually go for in a fragrance. This is soft, it’s pink, it’s innocent. Maybe that is why I like it. It is unlike most of my other fragrances. This is super soft, powdery. Clean in the 40 years ago sense of the word, it smells powdery but not 100% Johnson and Johnson. It is baby powder mixed with honey. It is kind of sweet but raw, like honey. The powder doesn’t linger around forever. It’s a bit citrusy, just a bit. Just a dash of lemon for a little tang. It is floral, fresh. I can’t make the floral notes out. Just generic girl flowers. It manages to be sweet the entire time, thanks to the honey a little vanilla for staying power. It is musky, in a “white” musk way. I really like this. It is easy to wear, I like the vintage vibe. It only wears for about 2 hours and it does wear faintly at the 2 hours. I feel like I have to bathe myself in it. It is a “cologne”, how retro is that? It only retails for $12 for 1.7 ounces. I love the perfumed skin softener. They really are meant to be together. Both items are married happily ever after. I see myself buying this again. I like this type of thing but I wouldn’t want to pay too much for it. This is fresh in a non-aquatic way. Thank goodness, it is honest unlike Love’s Baby Soft which you know is trying to cover something up. This is avaible on avon.com and of course, this classic is always on special. I think I got mine for $6 and you can’t beat that.

Demeter Devil’s Food Cologne Fragrance Pick-Me-Up Spray is just as rich and gooey as the real deal. This fragrance is super chocolatey and really rich. It’s a perfect chocolate fix. Seriously, sometimes when I crave chocolate I smell this and then the stuff your face in a vat of chocolate syrup urge is gone. It is rich and smells like Betty Crocker Devil’s Food cake batter. It smells like wet and milky cocoa powder. It smells more of batter than a dark chocolate bar; it’s cake batter. It actually smells moist and gooey. It reminds me a lot of a Strawberry Shortcake doll from way back in the day. It smells like cake and sometimes smelling chocolate is nice. It isn’t very long lasting but is nice while it is there. It’s quite devilish really.

Demeter PMU Cologne in Grass is a really nice fresh fragrance. Sorry but this is not anything like the wonderful but discontinued GAP Grass fragrance (that I did see in a gift set the other day!). I just wanted you to know that because I ordered Grass thinking of GAP Grass and was disappointed at first sniff. There is nothing wrong with Demeter Grass it is just very different than GAP Grass. Demeter Grass is very fresh and “alive”. GAP Grass was dead and dried out. Demeter Grass is very sweet and almost floraly at times. Demeter Grass does not smell cut or hay-like. It smells of new, growing blades of grass drenched in dew. It is a strong fragrance for Demeter and at times smells like it has a hint of citronella, but only faintly and for a very short time. It is very pretty and wears for a while compared to most other Demeter fragrances. It mixes wonderfully with Demeter Dirt, Tomato, Stringbean and any of the floral scents. It’s one that when I use it up I will buy another. It smells wonderful in the summer and wakes my senses up in the dead of winter. It makes a wonderful room fragrance too.

If you love sweet, foody scents then you need to give Demeter PMU Cologne in Dulce de Leche a try. It is a very sweet, milky fragrance that smells like well, its namesake. At first spritz it smells like a caramel-ish liqueur but then it dries down to sweet dulce de leche goodness. It’s a very “warm” and comforting scent that smells like caramel-ish milk and sugar. It smells very “toasted” and sugary. If you dislike gourmand food scents then please stay away from this one. It will give you a toothache. The lasting power is OK and seems to wear on top the skin and doesn’t really “stick”. It isn’t too strong and lasts about 30 minutes max. This is a great scent for fall or winter and could be too sweet for summer or spring. It is made to resemble the Cuban-American variety of dulce de leche, if this helps you understand the fragrance more. I like it but I don’t know if I will repurchase, for some reason I have two one ounce sprays…

Oh, Demeter Dirt, my first Demeter fragrance from way back when I was in 6th grade. Oh, do you know the obsession that you started? No, you’re just a cologne. Demter Dirt PMU is a wonderful fragrance. It is a must for those that love earthy or patchouli fragrance. At first spritz, Demeter Dirt smells kind of “wet” and like moist dirt. It dries down to a more “dry” smell, a dirt that has been tilled and bathed in the sun. Demeter Dirt is made to resemble the dirt from the fields of Pennsylvania which is were one of the founders of the company is from. I have no idea what Pennsylvanian soil smells like, I’ve never smelled their dirt. I just know that this smells “dirty”. This fragrance doesn’t have a great lasting time, it’s about 30 minutes max. It wears but very faintly. I just want to smell like Dirt for a little while anyways. It makes a lovely room spray. It creates an instant “camping” atmosphere. It also mixes wonderfully with Beetroot or Grass. It’s a great unisex fragrance too. I love it and I’ll keep buying it. I guess I am just a dirty girl. The large bottle is available at fragrancenet.com.
