As you know by now, lip plumpers aren’t working unless they are burning the daylights out of your lips. I feel they are so popular, well other than the fantastic claim, but I feel they are popular because women love to feel pain for cosmetic reasons. We like the reminder that something is uncomfortable because it reminds us of how “sexy” we are. That is why we continue to wear 6 inch wood heeled pumps, thongs, and strapless bras. It (the pain) will be on our minds more reminding us that we are damn sexy. Anyways, lip plumpers are one of those things. I have big lips and I still fall for and buy lip plumper. Other than being stupid, I just like the pain. It is simple as that. I feel like, “geez, this is really working”. The Borghese Lip Plumper is OK. It is clear and not too shiny. It burns. For some reason it burns more than Duwop or Too Faced on me. So, in my mind it is really working. So it contains all of those irritating ingredients. That isn’t too special. The price is expensive at $31.50 a tube. It can be picked up on beauty.com. It does plump up the lips and makes them have a bit more “color”. It plumps out the lines on the lips and makes them look so smooth. Other products can be layered over this. It isn’t sooo glossy. I feel like my lips keep the “plump” for hours, so there is no need to keep torturing yourself.

So who says we can’t take Robert Smith’s look and well, feminize it for our girly selves. I personally love it that he sports red lipstick. It sure is more striking than black lipstick on his alabaster perfect skin. First, skin should be even and pale. Apply concealer where needed. If you need foundation apply that too. Apply a fun powder such as Papier Poudré powder sheet in White. It kind of mimics a nice gothic complexion without being startling. Brush brows into place with a clear brow gel or brow wax such as MAC Brow Finisher in Clear. Apply a matte white eye shadow from lashline to brow bone such as Manic Panic Powder Eyeshadow in Virgin. Line eyes with a nice, thick black eyeliner like Benefit Bad Gal. Line the upper and lower lashline with a heavy, messy hand. It’s a very Liz Taylor as Cleopatra cateye, ancient Egyptian look. Apply black mascara or apply false lashes. Lips are lush and red. Line lips with a red lip pencil. I don’t care what anybody tells you. Red lip liner is a must. Line lips with Manic Panic Lip Liner in Vampire Red (this also doubles as an interesting eyeliner.) Apply a cherry, pure, blood red lipstick with a hint of satin, something like Milani Velvet Lips Lipstick in Red Carpet. Apply a nice coat of clear lip gloss. There are tons of these on the market and for a cheap price Maybelline Shiny-Licious Lip Gloss in Berry Clear isn’t too bad. Robert has decided to go blushless. That’s OK. I would love to slap a nice hot pink hue on his milky white skin but I don’t think he will let me. Tossle hair into a ragged mess and blast with aerosol hairspray if you dare and but on a nice sultry unisex fragrance like Jean Paul Gaultier Fleur de Male. So, it isn’t unisex but it might as well be, just like this look.

I have no idea how I didn’t know this product existed until recently. I love cocoa butter products. They are usually super cheap and are really a find. I’ve used Palmer’s products in the past and really liked them. I was making an order and came across this when I was trying to purchase a cocoa butter stick. It retails for $1.99 so I added this to the order. It is amazing. It is a moisturizing clear lip balm with subtle shine that isn’t too glossy. It just provides a light sheen. It has an amazing dark chocolate and peppermint fragrance, think the invigorating essence of a York Peppermint Patty. It smells delicious. It contains cocoa butter and peppermint oil, which leaves a minty fresh tingle. It isn’t a heavy or greasy formula. I have to apply it like every 45 minutes. But, that may be due to the fact that my lips are so dry due to this crazy Pacific Northwestern weather that includes freezing air and alot of snow right now. Regardless I am really impressed with this yummy product and its price. I will be repurchasing one of these squeeze tubes in the future.

I remember when I first saw this. I thought it would be so gross. I was imagining the actual DKNY Be Delicious fragrance infused into a clear, shiny lip gloss tube. Even as a fragrance fan, nothing is worse than having a “perfumey” lip gloss. I’ve revisited this product because apples are falling off of trees here in Washington. Since I am new to the area, this is very novel.

DKNY Be Delicous Lip Gloss is a clear super shiny lip gloss with medium thickness. It is loaded with a green apple scent and flavor. This is not Jolly Rancher green apple. This is still a bit “synthetic” but not candy-ish. Apple scents are hard to replicate. It is very fresh, crisp and juicy. I’m not a huge fan of DKNY Be Delicious, it makes me sneezy, but I do like this fun product.  It retails for $16 and it available at sephora.com and nordstrom.com.
