This is one of my favorite home fragrance oils ever. Aromatique The Smell of Spring does smell like spring. It is a blend of dainty, dewy lilies like snowdrops and lily of the valley paired with fragrant hyacinth and faint, powdery lilac. It is a dewy spring floral oil. It is very floral and very feminine. It does smell like concentrated spring in a bottle. I love these types of florals (especially hyacinth) so I love this. This is a home fragrance oil that I will always have around. I could see how some would find this fragrance oil to strong for their home. I don’t. I need something to help me get out of a winter funk. I like to burn this in the dead of winter as a reminder for spring. I like to burn it in spring because it is very fitting for a Nowruz celebration. I like it for summer and fall because it is such a pretty fragrance and makes my home smell fresh.

Like I’ve said before in other Aromatique reviews, I do not use this fragrance to refresh dried potpourri. I think that is what it is for. I use about 5 drops mixed with water and burn it in a home fragrance oil burner like The Body Shop oils. This makes my house so fragrant and like a dewy spring meadow. After the oil is gone (evaporated), I can still smell the home fragrance for a few days (on the floor of my home that I choose to burn it). I guess this all depends on the size of your home. But, I’m impressed with the lasting power. My only real complaint is that I don’t like the bottle. I have to use a dropper to get the oil out without making a mess. But, I am using it differently, I think.

Do give this fragrance a try if you are the type of person that likes spring floral fragrances like Coty Muguet de Bois EDT, Antica Farmacista Tuberose, Hycantih, & Lily of the Valley EDP, Strange Invisible Perfumes Urban Lily EDP, Annick Goutal Grand Amour EDT, Yardley Lily of the Valley EDT,  Tocca Giulietta EDT, and/or Jessica McClintock EDP. A bottle retails for $9. It is available on the company’s website.

I can’t escape the truth that I am a Southern gal. This is only evident for my love of Tyler Perry, mustard greens, and the smell of gardenias. I know that many people out there find gardenias too old-fashioned, too formal, and just too heavy. I love gardenia scents. I love those that come across humid and tropical, those that are sweet and romantic, and even those heavy, old-fashioned blends that remind me of a prim and prudish Southern woman.

Aromatique The Smell of Gardenia isn’t the highest quality gardenia out there. It is something for the home and not the body. The Smell of Gardenia reminds me so much of Sand & Sable or Jovan Island Gardenia (more of the later). It’s a formal and humid gardenia soliflore. There isn’t much more to it. It’s a “strong” gardenia. I love gardenia so I love this.

The thing about this oil is that a little bit goes a long way. This is a strong white floral fragrance. Too much of this oil could be headache inducing. I burn this oil. I think it is used to refresh potpourri. I may be 25 going on 50 but I refuse to do the potpourri thing. So, I burn it with a little water in an oil burner. The fragrance lasts a long time afterwards. It leaves my house smelling like I’m being courted by a dapper gentlemen and his gardenia boutonnière  in a courtyard in Savannah.

It retails for $9 and is available at Aromatique’s website. It’s a bit expensive but it really has a lasting fragrance that even covers up house dog odors.

If you are a fan of Victoria’s Secret Garden Collection Love Spell then you should love this. This home oil totally reminds me of that loud VS blend of berries, peach, cherries, and jasmine. It’s the Secret Garden Body Spray for your home. Aromatique Citrus Plum Berry is a fruity-floral heavy on synthetic smelling stone fruits and berries with a hint of white flowers. It’s strong. I use it in my oil burner. I’m sure it is actually for refreshing potpourri but I’m not a potpourri kind of gal. A little of this oil mixed with water will make your home very fragrant for a long time. That is a great thing if you like the odor. I personally hate VS Love Spell. I’m so burnt out with it. Every girl my age used to use that stuff. It reminds me of high school girl’s locker rooms. That is a place I never want to return to, even if it is only a fragrance journey.

Like I said, if you are into the whole VS Secret Garden line or if you are a mega fan of Love Spell or you just want your home to spell like a berry heavy fruity-floral, then this is for you. It isn’t a horrible fragrance. It does smell pretty and girly, I just don’t want my home to smell this way. It is very fragrant, a little goes a long way, and it retails for about $9. I’m not wild about the bottle. It doesn’t have a dropper top and you have to use a seperate dropper that is included. I then always get Citrus Plum Berry all over my hands. This product is available at some department stores, specialty home stores, and Aromatique’s website.
